EKE-Electronics Ltd. has designed one of the world's smallest crash-proof train data recorders with a Rugged Memory Module (RMM). The EKE-Trainnet® Event Recorder fits into a standard 19 inch rack, and complies with all major European, UK and US industry standards, such as:
EN50155 Railway Application Form
EN50121-3-2 Electromagnetic Compatibility
EEIG 97E461-3. 1998
GM/RT2472-1. 2002
IEEE 1482-1. 1999
The fire protection system of the RMM has been developed in co-operation with the Laboratory of Applied Thermodynamics at Helsinki University of Technology.
The EKE-Trainnet® Event Recorder (ER) is a device designed to resist tampering, fire, G-forces, hydrostatic pressure, fuels and other liquids etc in the event of an accident. ER monitors and records data such as time, train position, train speed, direction of motion, distance, throttle position, brake application and other operations on board the train. Full redundancy of logged event data can be achieved by installing two ER units e.g. at the opposite ends of the trainset.
EKE-Trainnet® Event Recorder can be configured for storing video surveillance camera data from IP camera system. In this configuration memory footprint is typically 16GB, which allows storage of approx. 2 hours of video material from surveillance cameras in a metro or local train.
